Disc Cell Mill

The Disc Cell Mill (DCM) is a high-performance milling system that integrates the advantages of mechanical grinding and jet milling. It is specifically designed for producing ultrafine powders with tight particle size distribution requirements. With optional configurations, the system can simultaneously perform drying, milling, and surface treatment of slurries or pressure-filtered cakes. To maintain material purity and compatibility, various contact part materials are available to suit different material properties. With years of technological advancement, the Disc Cell Mill has been widely adopted in industries such as lithium batteries and new energy, fine chemicals, food, and pharmaceuticals.

Classifier Disc Cell Mill

The classifier disc cell mill is divided into three parts:the premix chamber, the grinding chamber, and the classifier.Material is drawn into the premix chamber by an induced draft fan for preliminary mixing, ensuring that the material enters the grinding chamber in a uniform fluidized state. The main component of the grinding chamber is a vertically installed multi-stage rotor, which consists of multiple discs sandwiched between two support disc plates mounted on the main shaft.

The interior wall of the grinding chamber is lined with vertical grooves that are 6 to 8 millimeters deep, and the gap between the rotor discs and the lining strips is 2 to 5 millimeters. When the rotor spins at high speed,it generates turbulent airlow in a"nested"pattern. The airlow pressure, friction, and shearing forces, along with a chamber wind speed of 30 meters per second and a rotor linear speed that can reach up to 120 meters per second, quickly reduce the material intoultra-fine powder.

After grinding, the material is carried by the airflow into the classifier section. The entire system's airflow and the classifier can be adjusted according to the particle size requirements.Larger particles are separated by the classifier wheel and, under the influence of gravity, fallback into the grinding chamber for further grinding until the desired particle size is achieved.
